Welcome to Portal Coffee
We began amidst the uncertainty of lockdowns in Melbourne, where Aaron, who has years of experience as a barista, and our family, fueled by a shared love for coffee culture, decided to bring a slice of specialty coffee experience to our community in a resilient grab-and-go model which Aaron abandoned his PhD to pursue.
Exploring every nook and cranny of the city to test out of local roasters, we were inspired to create a space where great coffee and meaningful conversations take centre stage.
Emerging from the challenges of lockdowns, we transformed a teardrop camper into a thriving specialty coffee trailer, finding a home at the Nightcliff Jetty in Darwin after a big move. Here, below the big and beautiful fig tree, amidst the sea breeze and the rhythm of waves, we brewed not just coffee but connections, thriving on the energy of our community.
Driven by the desire to reconnect with family and establish roots, we moved to Busselton, where we decided to anchor our coffee concept permanently. At Portal Coffee, we celebrate the values of reflection, inspiration, community, and above all, the pursuit of an exceptional product. We believe that great coffee should be enjoyed without pretense, fostering an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome to share in the simple pleasure of a well-brewed cup.
